How does the brushroll work?
Vacuum cleaners designed for carpeted floors typically feature a revolving brushroll. Brushrolls revolve at up to 6,500 RPM and are driven by a belt attached to the suction motor. The main purpose of the brushroll is to loosen dirt from the carpet fibres and move it upward to where the suction motor can pull it into the vacuum cleaner.
When should you replace the brushroll?
Since worn bristles will not effectively clean your carpets, you should replace the brushroll when the bristles are worn. It's easy to tell when the bristles are worn out as they feel soft instead of stiff, and they may also have 'split ends'.
If your vacuum cleaner is very noisy, then the bearings in the brushroll may be defective or the endcaps may be clogged with hairs and carpet fibres. Use this replacement brushroll if the bristles on your existing bar are showing signs of wear.
Also, it's a good idea to replace the belt when the brushroll is replaced.
Please check model fit list to ensure this part is correct for your model.
