Most garden equipment powered by small petrol engines use a pull start engine cord, rather than an electrical starter. Manual starters are usually operated by pulling the TLO031 Starter Rope, which turns the starter and cranks the engine.

It's not uncommon for the starter cord to break, leaving you unable to start your machine.
