This replacement anti-scale spout filter is the mesh style filter that is typically found in the spout of your kettle.

Its purpose is to collect limescale from your water to help prevent scum forming on the surface of tea, improving the taste. Over time, hard water deposits build inside your kettle and form a hard coating of scale that becomes the perfect host for bacterial growth. Removing the scale from inside the kettle will keep it clean and reduce the amount of damage scale can eventually cause.
