Dyson Turbine Head Brushbar

The Brushroll in your vacuum cleaner's turbine tool revolves at up to 6,500 RPM and is driven by a belt attached to the suction motor.

The main purpose of the brushbar is to loosen dirt from the carpet fibres and move it upward to where the suction motor can pull it into the vacuum cleaner.

Since worn bristles will not effectively clean your carpets, you should replace the brushroll when the bristles are worn. It's easy to tell when the bristles are worn out as they feel soft instead of stiff, and they may also have 'split ends'.
